Geez… Where to start!?

We didn’t and still haven’t set goals or milestones, but hey 100 birds photographed and identified feels like a milestone for us. The amazing feeling of seeing an unknown bird, being able to photograph it and coming home to do the research has been absolutely rewarding. As I am trying to quickly catchup and learn the art of birding, which ones live here year around, who is potentially migrating through and what they look like… some birds I can now identify, like the amazing Crested Caracara that Amira spotted on the backroads of Pilot Point.

I am really thankful for the area where we live that provides so many potential landscapes from lakes, swamps, woods and prairie to capture these amazing birds.

As usual we were driving the backroads near the house and also as usual Amira noticed in a small pool of water a Sandpiper, pulled over and knew we didn’t have this one….Hello White-Rumped Sandpiper!
